In variable speed drive (VSD) compressors, an advanced drive system modulates the motor’s rotational speed (RPM) in real-time, aligning it with the prevailing air demand. This system dynamically adjusts the power input to the compressor, ensuring an optimal match between power consumption and required output. Consequently, during periods of reduced air demand, the VSD mechanism decreases the motor’s RPM, leading to proportionate reductions in energy consumption.
